Trash Pickup, Storage & Bulk Trash

Trash Pickup
The borough is divided into 2 sections. Section 1 has trash pickups on Monday and Thursday. Section 2 has trash pickups on Tuesday and Friday. There is no trash pickup on Holidays. If your scheduled trash day falls on a holiday then your trash will not be picked up until your next scheduled trash pick-up.  Trash must be put out either the night before or by 7:00am to guarantee  your trash is picked up.

Residents are allowed up to two thirty gallon containers up to 30 pounds in weight. We do not pick up building rubbish from building construction, street refuse, industrial refuse, dead animals, machinery or vehicles or parts thereof or such other waste materials as are not commonly produced in homes.

Storage
All trash, garbage or rubbish shall be contained in airtight, vermin proof containers, which containers shall be in an enclosed area and screened from view.

Bulk Trash
The only time you have to notify the office with bulk trash is when you have a heavy metal object or oversized item that you will be putting out.  There is no need to call the office for mattresses, box springs, furniture, and smaller items.  Box springs and mattresses now need to be wrapped in plastic or they may not be taken. Any appliance with freon such as refrigerators, air conditioners, etc. and televisions are no longer being collected on bulk trash days.  The only way to get rid of them is during an e-waste collection.  All bulk trash is put out the second trash day and only 3 objects per household per week are allowed.
