Note:  Containers, boxes, baskets, cans and bundles, shall be placed along the curb for collection not before 6:00 p.m. on the day prior to collection and removed not later than 9:00 a.m. on the day following collection.

Unless otherwise noted Recycling  will now be collected every Wednesday

WE NOW COLLECT ALL RECYCLES AT CURB SIDE:

 

  • Glass, plastic, paper, steel, aluminum, bi-metal and cardboard.
  • Plastic– #2 HDPE & #1 PET only with lids and caps removed and free of food residue.
  • Steel, aluminum and bi-metal food and beverage cans. You can include empty aerosol cans & empty paint cans only.  Please rinse out your recyclables.
  • Glass all colors

Place materials; (except paper and cardboard) in one container.  Paper and cardboard must be bundled separately


Trash Pickup
The borough is divided into 2 sections. Section 1 has trash pickups on Monday and Thursday. Section 2 has trash pickups on Tuesday and Friday. There is no trash pickup on Holidays. Click here for Holiday trash and recycling schedules.

Residents are allowed up to two thirty gallons containers up to  50 pounds in weight. We do not pick up building rubbish from building construction, street refuse, industrial refuse, dead animals, machinery or vehicles or parts thereof or such other waste materials as are not commonly produced in homes, stores and institutions.

Storage
All trash, garbage or rubbish shall be contained in airtight, vermin proof containers, which containers shall be in an enclosed area and screened from view.

Commercial
The Borough has established a program for mandatory recycling by all commercial, industrial and institutional establishments of glass, paper, steel, aluminum, bi-metal and cardboard where applicable.

Plastic– #2 HDPE & #1 PET only with lids and caps removed and free of food residue.

Commercial, industrial and institutional establishments must provide their own containers and contract for their own haulers to remove any recyclable items and provide the Borough with a written report at the end of each year with totals of their recycling efforts.

Tree and Shrub Recycling Program
The Compost Farm will be open the third Wednesday of each month from 7:00am to 3:00pm, January through September for leaf waste, shrubs and tree trimmings no wider than 4 inches in diameter and if bundled no more than 4 feet in length.

Residents and small businesses will be allowed to drop off the materials mentioned above, at no charge.  Landscapers and large quantity generators are the exception.  They will be required to be permitted to go over our scales.  There will be a fee.
